Third International Congress of the Dominican Laity
Fatima, Portugal
The Dominican Laity had its Third International Congress last October 4-10, 2018 in Fatima, Portugal.
A number of lay fraternities from all over the world participated in the said event. It has also been graced by the attendance of different members of the Dominican Family, especially the Master of the Order, Bro. Bruno Cadore, O.P.
We represented our IDYM Family in the congress. We are warmly welcomed by our brothers and sisters in the lay fraternities. In this encounter, we were able to share among ourselves ideas, stories, experiences and lessons of being a Dominican youth and a Dominican lay.
We pray that this gathering would bring the youth and lay closer, and would open more collaboration opportunities in the international level, regional level and more so in the local level. With this, we encourage all the IDYM groups to be in touch with our lay brothers and sisters in our respective countries.
Congratulations again to Hector L. Marquez, O.P. (ICLDF), Dr. Belen L. Tangco, O.P. (Secretary General of the Congress), Rev. Fr. Rui Carlos Antunes e Almeida Lopes, O.P. (General Promoter of the Laity), the other members ICLDF council and the whole Lay Dominican Fraternities Family for the success of the congress.
