Dear Sisters and Brothers
A very fraternal greeting to all of you. I am writing to you as an advisor to the IDYM coordination team.
The Church and, in a very special way, Latin America, will live a very important moment with the next WYD, which, as you know, will be celebrated in Panama. This day will certainly have a very special meaning after the recent Synod of Bishops on the theme "young people faith and vocational discernment". The Holy Father confirmed his presence in this important event.
The MJD-DYM (Dominican Youth Movement) will of course be represented in Panama. After combining its presence with the Province of Central America and thanks to the possible reception of young people in the Marie Poussepin Educational Center, Curundú Panama, establishment of the Dominicans of the Presentation, an OP Campus can be held where young people can share, pray together, meet each other
The Master of the Order fray Bruno Cadoré will also be present on the 21st and 22nd of January. It will be a very beautiful moment of dialogue and prayer with the presence of the successor of Santo Domingo.
The program that IDYM, in collaboration with the Province of Central America and the Dominican Sisters of the Presentation, proposes is very simple and perfectly reconcilable with the official Program of the WYD. So, we propose:
January 21st 18.00-22.00: Shared Dinner and Prayer Vigil presided by the Master of the Order
January 22 09.30-11.30: Morning prayer and meeting with the Master of the Order
These events will be held at the OP Campus, Marie Poussepin Educational Center, Curundú, Q end street, corner 4 behind the Juan Demóstenes Arosema stadium, next to Maria Reina Parish.
We invite all the brothers and sisters present in Panama, with their groups of young people to participate in these meetings that will certainly be very enriching for all. I ask the Provincials and Vice Provincials as well as the Major Superiors of the sisters to make this initiative known.
